What we do in your warehouse
Our team can manage the stages between a delivery arriving and an order being ready for dispatch:
- Unloading and receiving goods.
- Incoming checks according to agreed procedures.
- Identifying goods and placing them in designated areas.
- Storing and moving stock within the warehouse.
- Picking items and preparing orders.
- Packing and labelling where included in the service.
- Updating inventory records and carrying out periodic stocktakes.
Activities, responsibilities and working arrangements are defined before the service starts. You can focus the scope on the parts of the warehouse operation where support is needed.
Stock visibility and digital inventory
Barcode or RFID identification supports inventory control. Real-time inventory updates help you follow stock movements, while periodic stocktakes check the quantities held against the records.
We agree how information will be recorded and shared with your team. Any requirements involving your existing tools or systems are reviewed when defining the service, rather than assumed to be included.
Inventory visibility is distinct from shipment tracking. Our transport service provides proof of delivery, but does not include real-time shipment tracking.
Order preparation and operational reporting
Picking and packing are organised around your orders and agreed dispatch priorities. Reports on preparation times and order errors give your team information it can use to review the operation.
The reporting arrangements are agreed with you, including the information required and how it will be shared. Stock information and preparation data help your warehouse and commercial teams work from the same operational picture.
How we organise the service
Review the warehouse and the work involved
We start with your goods, volumes, available space and incoming and outgoing flows. Site access, working hours, receiving areas and order-preparation requirements help define the practical scope of the service. A site visit can be arranged as part of this assessment.
Agree the activities and coordination
We define the work to be carried out, the staff and handling equipment required, and how our team will coordinate with your contacts. The plan also covers checks, inventory updates, reporting and how to raise issues requiring your attention.
Start the operation and review the arrangements
The start date and working procedures are agreed with your team. As the service runs, changes in volumes or priorities can be reviewed so that the arrangements remain appropriate to the work involved.
On-site logistics or storage at our warehouses?
With on-site logistics, the goods remain in your warehouse and DigiCompany works at your premises. This can suit manufacturers, distributors and e-commerce businesses that need warehouse support close to their own operations.
With external warehousing, the goods are stored at our facilities in Fiano Romano, Capena or Rome. This can suit businesses needing additional storage space or a managed location for stock and order preparation.
The choice depends on your space, goods flows and required activities. Learn more about warehousing and storage, or discuss a combination of services with us.
Frequently asked questions
Is this the same as occasional goods handling?
No. Goods handling focuses on loading, unloading and moving items. On-site logistics can include ongoing warehouse activities such as receiving, inventory control, picking and order preparation, with agreed procedures and reporting.
Who decides which orders or activities take priority?
Priorities are agreed with your company's contact. DigiCompany organises the warehouse work around those instructions and the operating arrangements defined for the service.
How are damaged goods or quantity differences handled?
The checking and reporting process is agreed before work begins. Your team is informed of identified issues so that the next action can be decided according to the agreed procedure.
How quickly can the service start?
Timing depends on the activities, volumes, site conditions and resources required. We agree a start date after assessing the operation; there is no single timeframe that applies to every warehouse.
